From October 25th to 27th, the IWM NAMA project, China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation (CAUES) and SinoCarbon Education & Training Co. Ltd. jointly organized the online training on low-carbon development and integrated waste management. A total of 35 representatives from GIZ and five demonstration cities (Bengbu, Lanzhou, Suzhou, Tai’an and Xi’an) participated in the training. The urban planners, who are responsible for waste management and strategic planning, learned about the development of the Chinese carbon market, carbon trading mechanism, sustainable financial development and carbon management for enterprises. After a successful final exam, the participants will receive a nationally recognized “Carbon Manager” certification.

More than 150 representatives attended the meeting, and a total of 41,000 people participated the event online.
